Eternally winning at Hellfire

The ghost of a child, a UKIP-loving goose-hunting granny, Boris Karloff and a bunch of zombies. That’s what was on offer in last night’s Hellfire Short Film Festival 11th Round.

Hellfire is becoming well known for its varied genres and last night was no different.

The following short films were screened at the Hellfire Short Film Festival 11th Round:

‘DarkWood’ by John Tremayne (Newport, Gwent, UK)
‘Boris in the Forest’ by Robert Hackett (London, UK)
‘CTRL’ by Thomas Walker (West Hendon, London, UK)
‘The Goose Hunter’ by Jess Dadds (Brighton, UK)
‘Eternally Child’ by Lorena Sopi (Prishtina, Kosovo)
‘Apples’ by Milda Baginskaite (Lancaster, UK)
‘AXioMA’ by Elisa Possenti  (Ferrara, Italy)
‘The Rage’ by Joshua Cleave (Wollaston, Northamptonshire, UK)
‘Extinction’ by Jason Wright (Southend, Essex, UK)

After each short film was screened the audience voted on six categories, Director, Acting, Editing, Story/Script, Visuals and Soundtrack. Each category was to be given a score out of five with the totals added up to give the overall score out of 30.

The Winner Is…

And the winner, with the score of 20.46 out of 30, and going through to the Grand Final, is:

ETERNALLY CHILD

(Prishtina, Kosovo)

“Moni, a ten year-old boy, lives with his father Xhema in great poverty. During a fatal meal, his father Xhema accidentally kills his son. All his life he will live cursed, blaming himself for what happened. In his last days, when he is very old, Xhema returns to the house where the tragedy happened to ask forgiveness of his son in order to release his soul and be able to pass away.”

Eternally Child is the first Kosovar entry into the Hellfire Short Film Festival. Congratulations to Lorena and her team.
