Time for a Birthday Massage?

It was a tale of two countries at our Birthday Special last night. As we celebrated our first birthday films from the UK and the USA dominated the evening. Also, for the first time in Hellfire history, two films by the same director were selected.

We would like to thank everyone who have supported Hellfire over the past year including the filmmakers, audiences and businesses. Also a very big thank you goes to Cathy and Andi who run the Lime Bar Cafe, our spiritual home since day one.

The following short films were screened at the Hellfire Short Film Festival 7th Round:
(in screening order)

‘The Hunter’ by George Moore (London, UK)
‘Osteopathy’ by Alastair Train (London, UK)
‘New Neighbors’ by E.G. Bailey (Minnesota, USA)
‘Top Secret’ by Bless Williams (USA)
‘Consequences’ by Nabil Nona (Michigan, USA)
‘The Time Will Come’ by Daniel Robinette (North Carolina, USA)
‘Drawn To Fear’  by Daniel Robinette (North Carolina, USA)
‘Bread Head’ by Adam Chamberlain (London, UK)

After each short film was screened the audience voted on six categories, Director, Acting, Editing, Story/Script, Visuals and Soundtrack. Each category was to be given a score out of five with the totals added up to give the overall score out of 30.

And the winner, with the highest score ever received (26.8 out of 30) and going through to the Grand Final, is:

by Alastair Train (London, UK)

The runners up who both join our Wildcard table are:

‘CONSEQUENCES’ by Nabil Nona (Michigan, USA) (23.22)
‘DRAWN TO FEAR’ by Daniel Robinette (North Carolina, USA) (22.45)

Congratulations to Alastair Train and his cast and crew, we hope to see you at the Grand Final later this year (date TBA). And congratulations also go to Nabil Nona and Daniel Robinette and their respective cast and crew.
